Anyone able to actually land in the To the Mun Part 1 tutorial in 1 0 Help I can t for the life of me get the craft to land softly on the Mun before running out of fuel I got close once landing at around 50 m s and having everything explode except the command module whew but frankly I need to do it better A quick and dirty guide on getting to the moon Step 1 establish a 100km circular orbit around kerbin Step 2 make a node to push one end of the orbit out to where the moon orbits Step 3 drag that node around until you see a munar intercept Hope this helps cheers mate and good luck

Try moving the position of the maneuver and seeing if it gets better Once you have Kerbin escape and a Mun encounter you ll get a new periapsis for the moon Initiate a burn near the periapsis and close the orbit When it s time to leave burn prograde in your orbit and go home Make sure your Mun periapsis is above 20 000m or you risk crashing into the surface at high speeds Getting into Mun Orbit Once you have gotten into the Mun s SOI warp to periapsis turn towards the retrograde vector on the Navball and activate the engine Z key You can cut the engine once you enter a circular orbit around the Mun
